A Busy May.

ART IN THE ROUND

I  was invited to be featured artist at the first ever, Art in the Round' at the Derby Railway, Roundhouse. As you can see from the photos below, this was an amazing venue for over 60 professional artiest and makers to exhibit work and run workshops.

I was very lucky to be asked to demonstrate throughout the weekend. The organisers gave me the whole of the turntable on which to display my work and demonstrate. I decided to work on two large paintings. A large painting inspired by the recent storms, 'crashing waves' and a large painting inspired by a coastal walk near St Just in Cornwall.

WIP Left this to dry over night.

MIXED SPRING SHOW AT LYNDHURST GALLERY.

Here are some of the paintings I took to Lyndhurst gallery where I am exhibiting in a mixed Spring Show. It was good to meet the new owner Helen Shelbourne. This exhibition also with the work of  Natalie Rymer and Jack Frame runs into the summer and is well worth a visit.

Trees and Woodland Course

These 8 paintings were produced by 4 ladies who attended my Trees and Woodland 2 day course at St Johns Street Gallery, Ashbourne.

As you can see from the work, they worked extremely hard and with such enthusiasm to produce these beautiful paintings.

This was the first of 3 courses that I am running at this Gallery. The next one will be an Acrylic and mixed media  Landscape course  in June and a Dramatic Seascapes course in September.

TAMWORTH ART SOCIETY TREE WOKSHOPS

On Saturday 12th April I went to Tamworth  Society of Artists to do a workshop with 12 very talented artists. The theme for the day was Trees and Woodland.

The group worked extremely hard all day and everyone produced at least one finished painting. For some this was the first time they had used acrylic paints and for most it was the first time that they had flicked and thrown paint onto the canvas.

The results are shown below. Some lovely use of colour exploring all four seasons.
I had better make an apology now as I didn't manage to take  photograph of  every completed painting... I think I only missed 2.. Sorry.

I look forward to working with this group again.
